How Did I Get Here?
04:26
|
|||
There were flowers in the attic
And lace upon our screens
There was Thatcher, Collins and Greer
But how did I get here?
I remember your gate folded sleeves
And your summer night cities
And your pipers and thieves
But please now listen
I’ll try to say what I mean
They were poison arrows
And the twin tub machines
Chorus
How did I get here?
Time left me
It seems so near
How did I get here?
How did I get here?
Where did I go?
Please tell me
How did I get here?
You dared me
Into hysteria (but I kept feeling fascination)
And all that human racing
Well it left me inferior (next to the dancing girls)
We sang a new song
And screamed at Suspira (rewind before return)
Like a subway army with
An ashen exterior

Don't Make A Sound
03:31
|
|||
You know you did something wrong
Your sins are believed
and there is no trust in you
but you live and you breath
Their ears are deafened by the Good of their cause
just be a good boy now and keep your own thoughts
Don't make a sound
Just suffer in the silence
Don't make a sound
You don't want to be first
Don't make a sound
They believe that they can scare you
Don't make a sound
but your silence feeds their thirst
Where is our leader
what did they say
it's such a pity that it ended this way
But they believe in their power
to change the truth
They think their invincible
and this is your proof

Fly High
04:04
|
|||
I’d seen a million faces till I came to you
I’d lived a thousand lives and needed something new
Break from a life that wandered from day to day
You gave me something special and took me away
This life can be a journey an exciting thrill
We hold each tightly we won’t stay still
There’s nothing hidden, stolen or pushed aside
We left that behind us there’s no space for lies
Chorus
And we can fly high
And together we’ll make it
We can fly high
It’s time to take it
We can fly high
With the dreams we’ve been given
We can fly high
Tonight
It wasn’t always easy and there were times
When to feel this love was a crime
And people still remember the fear inside
The wanting to be open and feel alive
We’d always hoped for change and something new
And those that came before us had dreamed it
And now I hold your hand and I say to you
I know that I love me will you love me too?

Listen To Him
04:14
|
|||
I’m looking for a movement in a photograph
So I can see who I used to be
And so that I can know the truth
The picture is my proof
That I was here, the past is near
I turn some music on and then I smile at me
And it seems so clear there is no fear
Just an image of a boy whose laughter was a toy
To hide the pain and play the game
Listen to Him
Listen to Him
I hear the phone and wonder who is calling me
But I can’t move the picture soothes
I wonder what I’d do
If I would see it through
Or run away
I couldn’t say
A voice flies through the air and then he speaks to me
He wants to know
If I will go and speak with him tonight
His words they shake with fright
At what I’ll say
But my choice is made
Listen to Him
Listen to Him
The music stops and I feel it’s time to break away
time to be real and close the deal
I made before back in 1984
There will be no lies and no disguise
I drive away and tell him that there is no use
There’s no future here and I see his fear
That I looked upon my youth
and found the bravery to use my words today and
Then walk away.

The Gift
04:15
|
|||
Little child looking at your feet
You know there’s a day
That you will meet when
It’s over
And they’ve gone away
It doesn’t matter
If they won’t play
And though you sit
And hope and pray
That they’ll like you
They’ve nothing to say
Chorus
Keep your head held high
Look up to the sky
And the smile
Hold you close to me
For eternity inside
Cause you have the gift
Look inside see that they can see
And then
Tell yourself it will set you free
And just keep it
And make it your own
And then later on when they call your name
There will be need to feel the shame
And don’t look back
On what they’ve done

The Story Of Our Lives
02:58
|
|||
I need to breath
exhale the greed
relive the never ending glory that is now
the story of our lives
the view is clear
wipe out the fear
recast the never ending journey which is now
the story of our lives
and we will dance again
and we'll be free again
we can't be young again
but we can love again
and we will laugh again
and we will sing again
because we'll have
all the good things
in the story of our lives
There is a cost
for what we've lost
but keep the pride and hold the hope
that lives inside
the story of our lives
and so we learn (and so we learn)
that money burns
but feel the warmth and feel the love
that lives inside
the story of our lives
